New Vet and FIFA World Cup

Hello,

Welcome to our July Newsletter, we can hardly believe we are half way through the year already - time flies when you're busy!

Keeping up to date with the latest information and expanding the skills we can offer requires an investment in lots of continuing education for the team. After a break due to Covid, the large Western Veterinary Conference in Las Vegas was on again this year and head Vet, Dr Steve, went over for the week. Always a motivating and inspiring experience with new ideas for the clinic. More recently he was on an arthrodesis surgery course to provide even more options for our clients. Dr Claudia has been on a TTA surgery course and Dr Katy on an endoscopy course.

If you have been into our beautiful waiting area over the last couple of weeks, you may have noticed that we now have a new recycling bin available for food packaging! This is a new scheme started by Royal Canin this year to help reduce the impact of plastic on the environment. If you regularly purchase a Royal Canine diet for your pet, bring your empty bag in for recycling and help us all do our bit for the planet.

We have had a new veterinarian join our team recently! Dr Trish Bredin has joined our busy team as a part-time vet and we are loving having her on board. Trish and her family moved to New Zealand from South Africa this year and Trish is enjoying meeting all the lovely fur babies that live on the East Coast. Trish has two dogs - Barley who is a beautiful Golden Retriever and Stella who is a gorgeous little Parson Russell Terrier. Next time you're in, please say hi and welcome Trish to NZ!

There must be something in the water here because over the last year we have had FIVE nurses pop off to have babies! These ladies and their families have recently welcomed two gorgeous baby girls and three lovely baby boys. We are so lucky they bring them in to visit the team for baby cuddles every now and then.

The much anticipated Fifa Womens World Cup is being jointly held in New Zealand and Australia this year and ECB Vets is lucky to have one of the teams training in our own backyard! The American team will be training for their games at the East Coast Bays Football Association right behind our vet clinic and we would like to invite our clients to help us make some posters to hang along our back fence in support. The USA team is currently ranked #1 in the world and we'd like to give them a big, warm New Zealand welcome!

The first World Cup game kicks off on the 20th July. If you would like to create a poster welcoming the USA team, or supporting our own national team The Football Ferns, or any of the other teams, feel free to drop this off to our Customer Care Team anytime leading up to kick off.
