Clinic News and Updates
Celebrating Our Amazing Team
Recently, we celebrated both International Vet Day and International Vet Receptionist Day!
Our wonderful vets and customer care team were spoiled with a delicious bakery lunch and individual goodie bags as a small thank you for everything they do for our patients, clients, and team every single day. We are incredibly lucky to have such caring and dedicated people looking after your pets.
Masters of Veterinary Medicine
Congratulations to our wonderful Dr. Claudia Burrows, who has recently completed her Master's of Veterinary Medicine (MVM)! Over the past two years, Claudia has balanced full-time work with the demands of postgraduate study, showing incredible dedication and commitment. We are so proud of this achievement and grateful for the compassion, knowledge, and care she brings to our patients and clients every day.
Rhiannon & Dr Steve are heading to Niue
This year, our senior nurse, Rhiannon, will be heading to Niue in November alongside Steve and The Rock Vets team!
To help support the trip, we’ll be running some exciting raffles throughout the year. We’ve already had our first lucky winner drawn, and tickets are on sale now for our current prize - a beautiful cruelty-free pamper hamper kindly donated by Nurse Lea.
Keep an eye out in the clinic and on our social media pages for upcoming raffles and prize announcements!
Exciting News for Southern Cross Pet Insurance Customers!
We’re pleased to let you know that Southern Cross Pet Insurance now offers Pet Easy Claim, a convenient service that allows our clinic to submit eligible insurance claims directly to Southern Cross on your behalf.
When your cat or dog is sick or injured, Pet Easy Claim helps reduce upfront costs so you can focus on what matters most - your pet’s recovery.
How Pet Easy Claim Works
Instead of paying your full invoice and claiming the costs back yourself, we can lodge the claim directly with Southern Cross. Once processed, Southern Cross will pay us the covered portion of the invoice, and you’ll pay any remaining balance.
Invoices under $250:
Claims will usually be processed while you’re at the clinic, and payment of your portion will be required at the time of your visit.
Invoices over $250:
Southern Cross will email both you and our clinic with the outcome of the claim and a breakdown of any remaining amount owing. Any outstanding balance will then need to be paid within 7 days.
Information You’ll Need
To use Pet Easy Claim, please provide:
- Your Southern Cross policy number
- The policyholder’s name
- Your name (if different)
These details can be found on your Certificate of Insurance, renewal notice, welcome pack, or previous claim correspondence.
What You May Still Need to Pay
Depending on your policy, your remaining balance may include:
- Any unpaid annual excess
- Your co-payment portion
- Costs above your annual benefit limits or specific sub-limits
- Treatments or products not covered by your policy
Please Note:
In line with our clinic policy, Pet Easy Claim is not available for:
- Vaccinations
- Over-the-counter products
- Desexing procedures
We are also unable to process Pet Easy Claims for invoices that have already been paid.
If you have any questions about how Pet Easy Claim works, feel free to chat with our customer care team at your next visit.
Pet Food Orders
We often have clients pop in to purchase food for their pets, only to find that we may have temporarily sold out of their preferred diet.
To avoid disappointment, we recommend contacting our Customer Care Team in advance so we can ensure your pet’s food is ordered in and ready for collection when you arrive.
